IRS Wage Garnishment
Just as other creditors can do, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) may garnish your wages if you owe a tax debt or have any tax liability to the IRS. Whereas it is difficult for other creditors to garnish your wages because they have to first get a court order, this rule does not apply to the IRS. The IRS can garnish your wages regardless of whether or not it gets a court order, so long as you have tax debt and have not paid it off.
